Anyone think they can give me a Photoshop tutorial?

-_________________________-

My computer came with Adobe Photoshop Elements and I didn't want this program to go to waste. I want to be able to make cool sigs and wallpapers and stuff, but I don't even know where to start. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I'd really appreciate it..

I use PS too, but not elements. Anyway, here are some useful sites good for all stages:

http://www.tutorality.com/ps.php

I think of more later :P
Good luck!

I just found Adobe Photoshop Elements at Adobe's official website...it states that Photoshop Elements is a "powerful yet easy-to-use photo editing software for print, e-mail, and the Web". With it, you are able to:
Quote:
Capture photos from digital cameras, scanners, and CDs

Quickly correct photos and use powerful editing tools with ease

Count on top quality from the leader in photo-editing software
...after reading that it seems to me that Photoshop Elements is just one of those programs that helps people edit their photos. I think Photoshop is like that too, but more all-around. I don't think you're going to be able to do anything that you want with Photoshop Elements, but I guess you can try.

People normally don't use Photoshop Elements in order to make cool sigs, wallpapers, and other graphics; they use Adobe Photoshop 6/7/CS. As you can see, the internet is flooded with Photoshop tutorials because of the wide use and excellence, but Photoshop Elements in contrast is not quite as popular and commonly used.

...just my two cents.

totherescue, is the only thing you do post in my topics and find a tiny little thing wrong with what I say and make a big deal out of it? I asked if someone could give me a tutorial for Photoshop, not ask for someone to tell me how horrible my software is.

And for the other people reading this, I know I sound like a jerk for saying what I did, but there is a reason. It's a longs story, and I don't want to bore you with it, but I just wanted to say that there is indeed a reason why I am as frustrated as I am.

If you read my post carefully, I do not believe I have said anywhere that your software, Photoshop Elements, is horrible. I do believe, however, that I recommended you to acquire a copy of Photoshop 6/7/CS because you mentioned your eagerness to create "cool sigs, wallpapers, and stuff" With Photoshop Elements, maybe you can modify already created photos, but I don't believe you can accomplish what you want with it. I am only trying to help you on your way to making those graphics. And besides, I answered your question of where you could get a Photoshop Elements tutorial. I don't want to restate everything, but basically I don't think anybody uses Elements as much as they do Photoshop. I guess you can search the internet for the Photoshop tutorials and try your hand with them on your Elements software, but don't expect too much...because Elements typically is not what you would use to make those things.

If I have offended you in any way or mislead you to think that I am insulting your software, I am sorry. I believe Adobe Elements is an excellent piece of software, but the wrong choice for your purposes. That is my main point.

Oh, and about that other thing about me "nitpicking" your posts, that is absolutely untrue. Your posts are simply a little unresearched. I have merely gone out of my way to give you my opinion of the matter in order to inform and discuss the topic at hand with you and other members who happen to read the thread and its posts as well. Again, I am sorry for your angst and frustration at my posts...I am simply trying to post and discuss topics here at googlecommunity as you are and everyone else. It seems that perhaps whenever you see my name on a post, you immediately think accusing thoughts of me. I can't stop you nor make you think otherwise, but I can tell you once and for all I am not trying to exploit your posts! I advise you not to take my posts too seriously or think of them as a threat to you, because they are not. I am not against you in any shape or form. You are the one, perhaps, that is making a big deal out of nothing.

(sorry, the above post by "Guest" is purely accidental. My internet disconnected suddenly but I continued to write my post. Moderator, please delete it.)
