Certainly you will end up with issues. better avoid them by writing to google indicating your intentions. Even if they do not reply, you are covered!!

wow, I thought that they had to agree to you using the logo, not just receive your email. If so, my logo should be changing soon, if I can draw it again.

i dont think google would be happy with someone trying to remake their logo and then putting it on their site....

or maybe Google will not care about that...

I don't think Google will make a fuss about it (and cares about it) if your website isn't too large. And if your website is well known and Google doesn't like, you'll now. They will send you a message with the request (read: demand) to delete all google related trademarks.
