Why does Flash MX and Flash MX 2004 suck? I am behind times. I did not even know there was a Flash MX 2004...Surprised

Please enlighten me on the differences between Macromedia Flash 5 and its contemporaries Flash MX and Flash MX 2004, as well as Flash MX and Flash MX 2004, if you please Smile
ToTheRescue, it's all about personal preference.
I find Flash MX and Flash MX 2004 to be poorly laid out. They're completely different from Flash 5 which was very quick to use.

http://www.webdesign-referenz.de/pic...a_flash5_1.jpg <- flash 5 (I often have the windows all closed when using it)
http://www.blueidea.com/articleimg/2003/09/795/5.gif <- flash mx

It's mostly the issue that the newer ones have the arrows which allow you to expand and contract sections which by default are all set in rather than being in windows. They have them harder to find.

I see. Yes, I can understand perfectly how personal preference chooses the "best" program. However, you seem to be concerned with a couple somewhat trivial feature changes...shouldn't you be concerned with the program's efficiency and capability as a whole? Specifically, are you saying that Flash 5 and Flash MX are essentially the same thing except have some section layout changes? lol. Surely Flash MX and Flash MX 2004 have improved (or in your case, declined) than that.

I use Fireworks MX. I'd love to use Photoshop but even though a lot of people say it's fairly easy, every time i try to do something, i end up losing a lot of time trying to figure it out, so i go back to FW.
The one thing i can't get to work well with FW is the quality of pictures i scan and look good on my computer but when i upload to the i-net, look pixelated and just bad quality.

I use Photoshop 7.0. But I have Photoshop CS (unfortunately the keyboard shortcuts do not work for me [and I don't know why], so I don't use it). I also have Jasc Paint Shop Pro and Macromedia Flash MX (also don't use it... I don't understand flash).

For raster graphics I use Photoshop 7. I've been using it since version 3 so I can't say how I learned... practice, really, more than anything else. I even used to teach it.

For vector stuff I still prefer Freehand, though I own Illustrator, too. I also own ImageReady, Fireworks MX (and the whole MX suite, but not MX 2004), and am a huge fan of InDesign for printed graphics layout (I used to promote and teach Quark, but I'll never go back now).

Mmmm, graphics software.
