Simply you can have a sitemap on your error page. It's a good practice and also, you don't let your visitor just skip the page, but give them an option to search or browse your sitemap.

Humn, good poin alex but yesterday when I was surfing the net, i found some pretty good answers... ...like I went thru few articles and blogs and summarized that in order to make the error page as marketing tool, we will have to pay attention to the looks, navigations of the sites. Provide the online vistors useful information, links and resources and lots of other stuffs. So I want to ask you how far it is true? Does entertaining customers in the error page will be truely helpful?

Smile

I really not sure about entertaining visitors, but as I always do - I put myself in place of a visitor and try to think what would I like to see on that page if I were on his/her place! Ok, I got a page that not exist! I'm a little upset that it no longer there and I still want that page! What do you have me to offer? You can say to him/her - "Opps! This page is no longer exist, please use our sitemap to find it or use a search, thank you!" - This should make your visitor much happier You can write something more interesting, it's up to you!

Well, I just customized my error pages about Url. And Url probably wasn't that interesting. And Url has moved and if you see Url please tell him he owes me five bucks. Then I got a few links to my other sites.

I am on the hunt for some good content for my error pages because I want to utilize adsense for 404's. So I wonder what would be good content for a 404? Any ideas?
