How do I enable my google analytics date range?

Hi there ...need a little help. I am using google analytics to track my website's traffic etc. and I want to go back to previous dates. I do know to set a date range but by some bizzare and uknown reason this particular portion of my analytics is disabled. how do I enable it?

How do you know it's disabled? Normally you can just select a date range in the past, as you mentioned. Were you able to select those dates in the past?
