Well, the email address is optional on the registration form.
There is no obvious opt-out for the email notification?

I made an ant at that website, but I don't see if it will bring in a lot of clicks. Most people there just make silly ants with no URL's attached. But, I created one anyway.

I've started getting the spam, too. Too bad I can't edit something at the site to get rid of it.

Well, its hardly a problem if you use Gmail. You can just set up a filter to direct e-mails from that particular e-mail address to the Trash (or Deleted Items or anything else). Hope that justified the spam.
