Hello from China
Hi,
I'm an English teacher based in Zhongzhou, Fujian Province in The People's Republic of China. As you can imagine, it can get quite lonely here for a westerner surrounded by 1.3 billion Chinese. (Most westerners are in the bigger cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing etc.) That's why I thought I'd "Give Google a Go" (I should copyright that advertising slogan, it's rather good!) If anyone has any questions regarding life in China (this part of it at least) I'd be happy to provide what answers I can. Regards, BOHANKA |

Hi, bohanka.
That's certainly one of the more interesting introductions we've had here. So, where are you from, originally? Anyway, I hope you enjoy the forums, and maybe it'll be a bit like visiting 'home', wherever that may be. |

Hi there Mondine,
Thanks for your warm welcome and for being the first to answer my first post. To answer your question: I'm fortunate enough to have dual citizenship. I have a British passport and I also have an Australian one. I've lived in Australia for many years and regard myself as a fairdinkum Aussie. I'm also fortunate enough to have travelled to many countries and like to regard myself as a citizen of the world. |

Hi Kuting,
Thanks for responding to my posting. With regard to travelling the world, and with the greatest respect, "I don't have the time" is no excuse. You should take the time to travel. I look at it this way; we only have one life to live and there is so much to see and so much to experience by travelling overseas that we should take the time. I guess I'm lucky. My kids are grown and I'm divorced so perhaps it was easier for me than most but I do honestly believe that we should take the time to travel. Most people believe that you have to be filthy rich to travel. Well I'm here to tell you that you don't have to be rich at all. There are many ways of getting around on this planet of ours. Teaching English is just one of them. Take the time or make the time - either waywe should all of us make the effort to see some of this wonderful planet we live on. I sincerely hope that one day you will take or make the time to travel. You will neverregret it, I guarantee it. Kind regards, Bohanka |
