Opening Gmail

Hello again,
Sorry, I forgot to add this in my opening post.

I recently changed to gmail and Firefox, due to many problems with WinDOZE and I.E.

Now, when I open gmail, I get a warning pop-up stating that windows can't find (-gmail url -) and to make sure I have entered the right name and spelling etc. I may either click on the OK or the white cross on the red background to delete the pop-up. Whatever I do has no effect on the fact that gmail is loading behind the pop-up!

It is only a nuisance to have to keep clicking it off, but is there a way to stop it popping up in the first place?

this is not Gmail and GDK error.(may be i wrong.,).
ok..now..
1.clear your browser "cookie"..Tools>options.
2.type or copy+paste ...to your browser bar.

i got this same problems.,often..from my winXP.sometime,my XP and IE does not know google.com...lol..at that time.,i always clear browser cache and cookies".
and then,i used to clear by C-Cleaner..free download it.

yah..that is problems for Noogle..,now we are discussing this thread..you can add your suggestion and Noogle Errors.

Are you trying to open Gmail from a desktop shortcut?
I found this page while searching for the error: Linky

It seems to be very similar to your problem.
It suggested:

(In Windows XP and Windows 2000)

1. Open Windows Explorer (or My Computer).
2. Go to Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types
3. Select Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol"
4. Click "Advanced". In the "Edit File Type" window, select "open" and click "Edit"
5. Uncheck "Use DDE" (the dialog should then hide the lower part).
6. Click OK for that dialog and the next one (afterwards, the "Use DDE" box is still checked but the "DDE Message" box will be cleared, as shown here)
7. Repeat for Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy" (and any other protocols you want to fix)
8. Repeat for Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "Firefox URL"
9. Repeat for Extension: "HTM" (or "HTML") File Type: "Firefox Document"
