Google Alerts and Popups.
An elderly friend has recently bought a Dell computer running MS Vista. He is having difficulty clicking links with Google Alerts. Every time he does so, there is a pop-up message to say he has to switch off the pop-up. I have done this several times for him, and this still happens. I have downloaded Firefox for him, and this does solves the problem. However, when I try to make Firefox his default browser, Vista completely ignores this.
I also received warning messages about using Googlemail from Microsoft for a long time, when accessing my web Inbox. This has stopped recently. Up to then, I received no spam at all. The spam has increased considerably, since switching over to using Outlook Express in downloading Googlemail. I am wondering why this is. It would appear that Microsoft is the insecure system, not Googlemail.
Microsoft would appear to be breaking EU law in the first instance. There is an element of intimidation in the second. They have been told that they are required to end this type of behaviour, - or else.
