TinkerJack
My name is appropriate for me. I tinker with a lot of things. I have a degree in psychology and have spent the last few years tinkering with people's minds (with their permission, of course).
I have some free time now and am exploring other ways of tinkering. My mother thought I would never finish school (it did take 10 years to get the PhD) so she sent me to computer school where I got A+ and network administration training. Computers are like toys to me; I am not afraid of them even though I was born in an era which would lead you to believe so. I did my master's thesis on a very early word-processor which I learned to operate as I wrote the thesis. Piece of cake. I learned how to use Macs and PCs while in my PhD program. Almost distracted enough to not finish. I owned a Toshiba T-1000 which inspired many faculty members to get their own notebooks. One of my fondest memories is running SPSS on the notebook. Input the data, hit return, then go make dinner. Maybe by the time I finished eating it would be done... So this community is a new thing for me. I am always trying new things - house full of gadgets. I get it from my folks - dad and engineer and nutritionist, mom a first adopter (owned the first walkman). Cant wait to try this from my IPAQ... |
