How to Introduce Yourself

First, please read the forum rules and ask if anything on it is unclear.

If you have a question, do a search to see if it has been asked before, then PM me or any forum moderator.

Welcome to Google Community!

This forum is a place to introduce yourself to the community, read others' introductions, and get to know people.

It's a friendly environment. Feel free to be creative. We want to know about you, so tell us.

Your intro topic could include your name, hobbies, likes and dislikes, school or job info, aspirations, etc.

Also, let us know how you found us. It might be a good way for us to reach more people.

We've been seeing some boring Subject lines in here. I suggest something more interesting: a quote that inspires you, or a phrase that makes you laugh. Something that reflects you.

Another suggestion - you can post a photo. A few rules for posting photos:

1. No nudity of any sort
2. No disgusting images
3. No impersonations (make it only you)

If you break any rules on the forums, you may be permanently banned. And you probably won't be able to return, so don't take any risks.

New to forum posting?
To create a new topic, look for the button that says "New Topic". It looks like this:

Hi people! It's nice to see everyone ('old and new') introducing themselves.
But perhaps the people introducing themselves would be better off starting a new topic for themselves.
That's probably the best way for us all to get to know each other.

Hello everyone,
My Intro:-
I suspect that "Elliot" is the person who has assisted me onto this forum, therefore, public thanks for all you have done - especially for you, on Christmas Eve, and for me on Christmas Day!(due to the time difference)
About me -
I'm retired, living in the south of Spain.
I have been using a computer for about 2 years and I'm still on a steep (precipitous) learning curve! (Which I enjoy)
I have retired from the medical profession, but have found that "retired" is only a name!
My interests are (obviously, medical matters), Tauromaquia, Flamenco, Photography and Jazz - of which I am the secretary of the local Jazz Appreciation Society. (Our president is a retired jazz musician and runs a jazz programme on the Spanish Radio and a 24/7 jazz programme on the internet, which is rated at about 3 to 5 out of some millions of jazz radio programmes on the internet)
My family are all Spanish on my wife's side. We travel regularly to Galicia,
in the north of Spain, where my wife's family live.
There is much more, but I think that that will do for now!
My question:-
I have downloaded the Notifier. previously to downloading I was informed that I could programme the notifier to make a sound when notifying. It does not do so, only a quick pop up appears. My question is twofold -
1. How may I include a 'sound' with the notifying pop up?
2. Is there a way to have the pop-up stay up longer than for about a second?
Thanks for any input - and, as it is Christmas Day, a very Merry Christmas to you all!

I have one daughter still @ home. But as soon as she hits 18 I know she will be "IDDY 500.. OUT OF HERE"!! haha... (teens
