The Davinci Code: Fact or Fiction?

So, this new movie (and amazing hit) the davinci code has gotten amazing results in people who watch the movie and read the book. First off, i would like to say this movie is the biggest load of lies i have EVER seen. I must admit, it is convincing, and soo many people are falling for the sutl lies that he puts in. 1 in 3 people in europe believe what this guy wrote (and put in the movie) I have noticed that some people are too lazy to find out the truth about certain subjects such as religion. For some people if it sounds good than its right! I mean, why bother looking it up and doing a little reaserch to see if its correct? Well, i would like to post a few facts i have discovered. First if you read the book (most of you have) at the biggining, he says that it is a "fiction" book and that most of the facts arnt true. But so many people dont take the time to look, THEY DONT CARE! It sounds good right? I mean, better than some dude being god and comming down to earth to save us from sin. NO. It doesnt sound good, its not dramatic enough. And people nowadays are so fooled by this, it sounds so true! I mean, a murder mystery, evil churches doing bad stuff, and a guy (jesus) who married mary (instead of was born from her) and having a son.. Its perfect.. yah, right. Why are people so convinced?? Well, it sounds good, and comming from a movie where a guy says the stuff is fact, then why not? Not just that, what happens when you watch an inticing murder mystery where your so caught up in it that you just take in the facts and decide there true.

How many people believe what this guy is saying??

It's a story. A work of fiction. I really don't know what people are so worked-up over.
Some of the 'facts' that it's supposed to be based on are just plain silly.
Like this 'secret brotherhood' which has long been proven to be a hoax (it was invented long after the time of DaVinci).
And the premise itself had been theorized about long before Brown decided to use it in a novel.
And that's what novels are, by definition. Fiction.

The contoversy is mostly manufactured to increase sales. They do that because it works.

I think saying that it's based on true facts has made him at least a few millions pounds.
I think the book is very well written - it's not pushing anyone's vocabulary, so is maybe not the most educational, but Mr Brown does have a very good style which keeps the reader wanting to read more.

The book and this movieis fiction, but Dan Brown has couched that fiction in some rather obscure factoids. What most folks don't realize is that the main book that he based this stuff on has been proven to be a hoax. Mr. Brown has a gift, it seems, for presenting fiction as fact.I personally don't understand what all the hooha is about. If you're strong in your faith, then, the book or the moviewon't test it, and you shouldn't get upset. If you're questioning your faith, then, I suggest that you take the time to dig deeper, and consult some recognizedscholarly works instead of falling for hype and hoaxes.

I saw the movie. Regardless of wether or not wat it says are true, it was an amazing movie if you can just watch it and enjoy it. Its better when you don't think about all the controversy. It's amazing.

The movie and equally so the book is a work of fiction as mondine put it. They are fake, made up, fictional. Any one who beleives that it is a true story is a bafoon.

This was a great movie and long, but it does make alot of sense. People should realise that it is a movie

I've read the book and was intrigued by it, it was a very good read. But as far as theory goes, there is no opinion on whether it's true or not. It has been proven that the theory is false. THEORY=FALSE no question about it. if u don't believe me, then google "da vinci code debunked' and read some of the stuff.
