Film Cafe

I think this should be a sticky because, we need a film forum and this would tie I us over until you give us one, and I think it’s a little bit helpful to newbies who like films but do not understand the credits giving to people. And the amount of crap that has come onto the forums there is no way in hell this topic would last without being a sticky. You might think why do I have the audacity to ask to have this topic become a sticky but it will more good than harm I think.

I posted this topic because I love movies, love talking about, love watching them. The first time that I really got into films is when I was playing Grand Theft Auto III, I noticed how cool the mafia were in the game, so when I went to my Dad’s house I saw the Godfather in his video collection (He is still stuck in the stone age) So I asked could I borrow it to watch it, So when he brought me home Sunday I watched it, absolutely loved it, And I learned that there was a trilogy of them so bought the other 2, loved them as well but had to watch Godfather II several times to appreciate it.
A year later I got a Playstation 2, So I deciding that I might get a few dvd’s to start my collection, so I got a few every now and then to add to my collection. After about two years I saw Grosse Point Blank on Network 2 one night, and decided to buy it, so I rang my step-Dad and asked him to buy it, and I would pay him back when he got home.
He rang back and said that there was an offer in Hmv that if you bought a dvd you could get another for 10 euro, so I said what’s there, he said ‘Gladiator, Jackie Brown, Jerry Maguire, Pulp Fiction’ I picked Pulp Fiction and that’s when I really got into films and studied the way its made, the artistry in it, the metaphors, and the depiction of characters on the screen.

Now here’s a run through the credits that are giving at the end of the film and what they mean.

Co-Producer-Promotes the movie, helps producer, usually the lead actor takes this role.
Executive Producers-Work for the production company, ie. Warners Brothers, makes sure the movie stay’s on budget and generally just’s made sure the movie is made.

Costume Designer-Designs the outfit’s actors and actresses wear, according to the style of the film
Gaffer-Sets up the electrics needed for film, surpervises set and rigging
Casting-The person that casts most of the actors, except the main, Films hire people to cast for them, i.e. C.S.A,
Music-Merely puts and edits the music to the scenes, occasionally some compose.
Composer-Produces music according to director’s vision,
Foley Editor-Creates the sound effects that do not exist, then they match it to the screen to get the timing perfect

First Assistant Director-Helps director with supporting actors on the set
Second Assistant Director-Directs mainly the extras of the film
Stunt Co-ordinator-Directs stunt being performed
Fight Choreographer-writes the fights so to speak, and directs them
Stunt Players-Stunt men who do the stunts when it would be too dangerous or fatal to the project if something happened to the actor
Stunt Rigger-Makes sure the back ups are in place, platform, sets up the stunt

That’s all the jobs explained, please correct me if Im wrong.

You probably know where I got the title ‘Film Café’, Well that’s where use to talk about films with his mates, in Café’s, And that’s another reason why I created this topic, to discuss movies, future movies, and the mystery’s that surround most Tarantino films, like what’s with name ‘Reservoir Dogs’ or what was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction………so have fun…………..

No, this forum is enough, we don't need a separate film forum. I didn't read the whole post, but there is no way in hell that I'm gonna believe you wrote everything.

Dude66, I like your taste in movies. Get you some of the Coen brothers movies ,I think you would like them as well. My favorite author's are Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy and John Grisham. All of these guys have great movies made after their books. Check them out, you'll like them.

You must see these movies: Heat!
Scarface!
