Newlywed Indian star Aishwarya Rai to continue acting

NEW DELHI: Newlywed Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai says she wants to continue acting and finds it wonderful to be married to her best friend, according to an interview published Tuesday.
Former Miss World Rai said she took a very important step in life by deciding to marry co-star Abhishek Bachchan and that it turned out to be the best move.
"There is immense love and respect," The Times Of India quoted her as saying.
Rai said she had no immediate plans to give up her successful acting career, although she was looking forward to having children at some time.
"In future, obviously there will be children and then I will plan my time accordingly," she told the paper. In the meantime, she said she plans to continue working.
Many Indian actresses stop working after marriage to either focus on having a family, or because they lose some of their attraction with younger audiences.
Bachchan and Rai were married in April in Mumbai, India's financial and entertainment capital.
Rai also said she was excited about working with her husband in "Sarkar 2," in which she will play a powerful woman who manages mob business.
Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the movie is a sequel to the 2005 hit "Sarkar" or "Boss" about a ruthless mob boss played by Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek's father.
The newlyweds have worked together in several movies, including the popular "Bunti aur (and) Babli."
