Google Notebook

Hello. I recently made an account in Google. I have to say it's nice, Gmail, the customized webpage and so much more. I was wondering if the Google notebook is safe to use? I read some reviews and some people have had their things posted. I'm guessing they shared their notebook but is mine safe as long as I don't share it? I was just wondering.
