I am new to the whole blogger thing. How can I get my blog out there for people to see?

I'd also say read other blogs and post comments. When you post a comment, your handle will be a hotlink to your blogger profile. The more provocative your comments, the more people will want to see what you've been up to...

^ Yeah. Going around and posting well-written comments is one way of spreading word about your blog. Just remember to actually put some thought in your comments - you can't just spam every other blog that you visit.
