Google will use Jabber technology to connect with established IM, like ICQ for example.

I hope that Google create clients for Linux, or use web based client

The idea of having a in-browser client would be an interesting idea.

GTalk went live about 8 hours ago, if anyone needs gmail invites feel free to leave a comment on the blog posting.

BTW there are a couple of custom apps that we could built just like google maps are being utilized elsewhere. im just waiting for the api key to be released.
