Send a message via MSN to atmavidya
google is better

First, Microsoft products are full of bugs. GMail supports POP3, and a lot of features that MS never will implement. Maybe the reason tht why many persons use hotmail instead gmail is the MSN Messenger. google release GTalk, but is beta yet, but i think if GTalk grows correctly and not implement unuseful features like Microsoft will beat down the MSN Messenger. in any way google services are better than microsoft services.

Greetings.

For me both are as good as each other but I clearly see more participation in Microsoft’s Betas because users and developers/program mangers talk to each other in newsgroups not something that really happens with Google.

Also don’t forget there are loads more alternatives than just Google & Microsoft!

So Google products never have bugs?

Microsft products are not perfect, but...none are...

(edit: responding mostly to atmavidya, also few above him - I've had this tab opened too long...)

I think, between Microsoft and Google, Google would win.

...but, above all, Mozilla would win :P

my take on G.v.sM
simple, Microsoft got a lot (most) of us on the web...and now that we're here, Google, plans to take us on for the ride.
Microsoft has lost the search battle and doubt it'll ever recover.
But google is making the quality of what the web was made for originally, a much better thing, exchanging information.
I think Microsoft, maybe didn't see the bigger picture. They just wanted to make sure their product was in every household and it is (in most).
Google said, great, thanks for letting everybody in, we'll take it from here.
Lucky guys ($ergey and Larry)
It's a cycle, in the next 10 years, someone will come up with something good as well.

I think that if google tried to create an operating system it would take a lot of their resources. They should create new things, but not a huge task like an OS.

With the kind of coin they have and the new team that's running it...NO WAY would i just sit and develop what i have already.
Gotta expand and that's where they're doing.
That could have been said about their search engine.
"okay, great search engine, let's leave it at that"
There would be no Gmail, GoogleTalk, Picasa, Orkut (sp?), GoogleEarth, etc, etc...

I didn't mean don't do any more expanding...i meant i don't think they should leap into such a big thing like and operating system. I'll edit my post.

Would you stop at an OS if you were google?
With the kind of team you had and the money behind it?
Honestly...?
