Post title not indexed correctly on Google

I use Blogger and my template code has been modified so that my post titles are indexed on Google. Sometimes the titles of posts fail to get indexed - instead the name of the blog appears with the post info in the accompanying blurb beneath. This happens intermittently and I'm wondering why the inconsistency. I've established my user preferences with respect to title, but it seems to be a hit-and-miss affair when it comes to the actual indexing.

I've had some feedback on this - one suggestion was that template changes to allow for post title indexing on Blogger appear to be a gray area and Google may exercise discretion on which posts get title-indexed. The other suggestion was that sometimes Google is slower than at other times in indexing posts and re-submitting a Sitemap may help.

Any other thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hy dan,

My advice is to have a little patience. Google will show the exact titles in the results after a while. The reason it shows unexpected results now is because of the google algorithm. Also you should know that what you are experiencing is actually a good thing.

Having those results means that those posts have a higher probability of escaping the google duplicate index. Since blogs have huge templates, even if your posts are unique, the final blog pages could end up being considered as duplicate results for a while.

Post to your blog as you usually do and every now and then try to build links, but don't do anything aggressive. You will see your desired results in no time.
