I found it intersting that Google is thinking about a system similar to E-Bay.

I also found this today, too. After I found it I decided to check here to see if anyone else had anything on it.
I made a post on my Google blog, which I write in to store Google articles for personal use and whoever wishes to read it. You can find all that I've found here: googlegalore.blogspot.com |

I was able to get to the main page, then it was shut down. Now if you go to http://base.google.com, it asks you to log in to your google account. I tried, but it didn't accept me.

Stop with the oh since some Google rumors site says Google is going to rule the world in fish it must be true attitude. The only way you'll know something is true is when Google officially says it and when it actually comes out. |

Well, I have to tell you that watching Google is probably one of the most interesting company-watch things I have ever done. Between going after MS, every local directory, and all the suspected things http://www.businessweek.com/technolo...027_587849.htm, and a few things that haven't been mentioned as much, one has to wonder what is true, how much is true, how many trial balloons they are floating, how much of this is disinformation to make competitors worried, and how much will be projects they will abandon.
However, with their suspected national WIFI network that would kill almost every ISP, Google Talk, OS, browser, Local pretty much wiping out most online directories and poised to take a chunk out of travel players, their new television station "Current" (which they have now taken their name off of), running much of Internet advertising, and the giants that have owned these markets, I wonder if Google could make enemies in too many markets. I am watching who they hire, and I also suspect several other markets as well though these haven't been really mentioned anywhere yet. Consider that their pretty much stated and suspected objectives put them on a collision course with MSFT, Yahoo, AOL, Ebay, Monster, Verizon, Motorola, Nokia, SBC, Expedia just to name a few. Now personally, if I were NOT going after these markets, I'd want to diffuse this somehow before they aligned their war machines against me. While these companies have been feeding Google, they probably aren't a huge percent. The danger however, is that when companies start thinking their neighbors are on the menu, they have a tendency to wonder how long before they hear an ominous knock on their own door. It's okay to make a few enemies so long as your friends trust you. But when your friends are worried you might eat them too, they might start to be not quite so friendly. These are some pretty bright people over at Google so I am not overly concerned. But if public opinion is that they have lost the "Do No Evil" mentality, the last company they end up eating might be themselves. That said, I am making very nice money on Google, both in stock and in AdSense, as well as doing great in the SERPs. I don't wish them to fail. But I would rather see them go deeply after a few markets than to try and go after everyone at one time. |

Well it's been launched. To me this looks to be more of like a Craigslist on steriods as opposed to the "eBay killer". Who knows though, I'n sure there will an auction function to it sooner or later. It's nice that they offer uploading by feed like Froogle and other shopping engines. |
