Is Google experimenting with images in search result?

I have found that there some sites images are showing in search result above description and below title.. I would like to know that is Google experimenting with images in search result? How does it possible?

I have checked out image search of Google but could not find this feature. I think you might have checked Google similar image search.

I think what he meant is the appearance of images in the actual search results. I've too noticed this and as a webmaster I'm not sure if I like this since it pretty much distracts searchers from the actual page results.

But speaking of Google's image search, there seems to be a lot of experimenting going on too. Is it normal for instance to constantly have images pop in and out of one's site search results? (site:Domain name registration, web hosting and VPS hosting | Domain.com)
