Google Picasa
Picasa is probally the best picture / photo software to download and use for free. I especially like the [Gmail photos] link because from the applicatiopn you can email your photos to family friends etc. I have lots of photos stored on my PC and when I downloaded Picasa 2 it found old photos that i forgot i even had. Also it is very easy to use for example it is way esier to get photos off my digital camera using pacasa athan it is using software that came with the digital camera. The simplicity of Picasa is itts best feature. Also There is other software to help publish your photos onto the internet for exmaple: you have got Blogger [for creating a Blog] and you have hello. I will not talk about them because that is for another Topic.

I've downloaded Picassa and it certainly has an impressive layout and feel, but I've never quite seen the point.
I just use Windows explorer which provides you with thumbnails of pictures as Picassa does and is a lot easier to organise photos into folders and albums. When I ran picassa things weren't organised as I like them anymore. For starters it arranged them into the dates that they were created - but these dates were all wrong. I have my photos organised into yearly folders, then monthly folders etc. anyway so I found Picassa didn't really help me much. I like having folders and sub-folders, but Picassa didn't seem to do this for me (and I couldn't be bothered to go through gigabytes of photos rearranging them in Picassa when I have them neatly stored in Windows anyway). Surely, if you organise your pictures well, Picassa shouldn't find any photos you forgot about in the first place? Maybe I'm more organised than the average person...? I'm certainly willing to give it another go if people can give me more positives for using it... Thanks! (Was that a bit negative? - Sorry!) |

I love Picasa after my macnifacturing company recommended it.
It sorts out all my picture by the year that I last edited. What I like the most is the picture tray. It holds pictures for a while and I can e-mail the pictures faster witout making so much attachments. |

I must agree with Thebluecamel, among the other Picassa left the impression that it was made for very disorganized people.
The only reason I tried it is the Sepia effect which I was lacking in Irfanview. But once I saw how slow and messy the program is Sepia became unimportant. |

I love picasa because of the way it handles pictures. When you apply effects or crop pictures, these are not really modified (your picture is never touched); all changes are saved in a ".ini" file. No extra pictures, just the effect applied. With these, you can always "revert" to the original.
I use it to send pictures to my friends through gmail, and to upload pictures to my blog in Blogger. I also love the way it organizes my pictures by the real date. By real date I mean the date in the camera from which the pictures where taken. That's all I need. |

i dont use pisca, i have it installed, but, i dont use it, i just manually go and view my photos, its easier that way i think.
i havent played around with pisca enough to fall in love with it, and, to tell the truth, im just lazy, sooner or later, i will figure it all out. |
