First, they brought us the idea of suing a company that sells food because you ate too much and made yourself fat.

Now, America has surpassed itself in sheer stupidity!

The woman who sued should be shot and shovelled into a ditch,

Yeah I agree...So nice and teenagers are so rare nowadays and the woman decides to sue them...But hey, you can't blame the country for it just because it has some stupid people...

Pretty rude, I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy.

Don't blame Americans, it could happen in any country. For all you know, the woman who sued could have been from another country.

That is absolutely rediculous! If that happened to me here in the Netherlands and I would go to court to sue them the judge would laugh in my face and would tell me to get a life!

Just a question here, because I'm not familiar with the USA laws. Isn't there some sort of law that makes sure that these rediculous claims are being rejected right away? Well, apparently not, because she won it.

In the Netherlands you will never have a case with such a claim, simply because nothing really happened. You don't get a heart attack of seeing a bag of cookies or someone knocking on your door at night! (unless something horrible happened to you in the past involving cookies or something, but that would make the situation an huge exception). In the Netherlands this case would have been rejected right away (except for possible exceptions ofcourse).
