1970's thread?

I was thinking of a new thread, when I noticed most of the oldest thread here (pls. see the last ones) have a common year: 1970?! Could anyone here be kind enough to explain it to me? if the dates aren't the real ones, and the thread are just too old, why not delete them? thanks!
