UNLOCKCARRADIOS
Smile Do you know the answer ?

My question is this: I have alway's been baffled about the correct use of keywords to their full extent.

Is it better to have one keyword or lots in your site and and on adwords.

Example - my website sells car radio codes - would my keyword be car, radio, code, and more or car radio code.

Any comments and opinions are welcomed, thank you in advance.

It is better to target a keyword phrase than one word keyword.

i think UNLOCKCARRADIOS not asking on how LONG should their keyword be but how many keywords should they target at each page...though i agree that it is good to target keyword phrase rather than one word...You can target lots of keywords each page but 5-10 major keywords/phrase will be enough on each page...try to target those less popular keywords first and when your already successful on it meaning you already rank with it that will be that time to pursue those popular keywords...hope this helps...

Not really, if you want to get keywords for your site, you must be aware of the following:

- How important the keywords for your site. Check it in overture.
- After that, search for that keyword(s) to determine the number of competitors you have, it is ok to have a large number of competitors but limit yourself on your skills.

same here. he is asking not how long but how many

IMO, target first the main or major keywords that you have that would be atleast less than 10, but again, it depends on your website. after targeting those, once you already have ranks for those keywords, you can now optimize the other keywords of your site while continuing optimizing the major ones.

Determine first what keyword that best describes your site.. lets say "car radio codes" is your major keyword, you have to search for a good 'keyword suggestion tool' if that keyword has high searches per day/month.. the higher searches per month, the higher possibility to be clicked.

but it also depends on search engines result..browse google or yahoo if the keyword you are choosing has high results.. the higher search results is, the lower is your position in that keyword..

link building is the key to have good position in a specific keyword...
