Is the quality of the content is the focus of the site? How can we identify if the site has unique and has quality content?

well you can check also the internet and see where your content is posted.

do it yourself that you know that your contents are unique as you are the one who personally done it...write informative/knowledgeable content that you think visitor will love to read and that they will learn with it and that might bring you a lot of BLs....

Well quality is what gives you what you were looking for and in a well written manner it should be just informative thats it.

To check for duplicate content issues, there are different options:

if you did the content of your site, definitely it is a unique content. There are tools to check duplicate contents. i don't know the exact tool but you can search it on the web

But what if you post your article to article directory does it penalized you from having duplicate content?
