Advice about Google listing please?

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I need some advice about the way in which Google lists my site.

Currently it just lists the title and description with the home page underneath. Fairly standard. However, I have noticed that some other sites get the standard listing with a load of other pages from their site listed underneath. I don't understand how they do this as it doesn't seem to be just reading across from subheadings on their home pages. The sub pages listed seem to be hand picked.

Please let me know. I am a marketing person and not a SEO professional, but I do need to keep up to date with these things. I work for a charity so we prefer not to use SEO agencies.

what do you mean? you want your subpages was also seen on search engines?

my blog also listed other page of it in search engine... but in just certain keyword only which i use in searching.. i don't do anything magical or anything.. maybe its the SEs listings..

IMO your subpages will be seen if you will optimize it with your targeted keywords...your subpages will not be underneath your main page everytime but atleast with some of your keywords...depending on how you optimize your site with your targeted keywords...

If your site is indexed you should try to improve content internal linking, avoid broken links, and make some updation on the indexed pages and add some relevant data to the specific page.

when the crawler come back It will assigned some priority to your home and subpage then you will be able to get the position in some time. But it depends on the crawler these all are assumptions made on basis of my vast experience.

How will social tagging change all of this in the next year? Is it worth further optimising our site if Google goes down a personalisation route in the next 12-18 mths? Or would it be better concentrating on getting good links through from blogs and profile sites?
