How do I Start A blog??

I am new to the blog idea of SEO so sorry if this may be a dumb question, but where is a good host to start a successful blog. I know blogger and wordpress are popular sites to create a blog on, but are they going to have the same effects on SEO than if you create a unique blog site? Any suggestions on where to start a successful blog would be greatly appreciated.

blogger and word press are just the popular ones. but you can create your blog anywhere you want.

you can create a blog related to your site, link your blog to your site.. this can help... discuss reviews about your site products, services or anything that your site offer.. you can also optimize your blog to increase popularity...

blogger and wordpress are good blogsites to use.. but it didnt means your blog will be popular because you have a blog there.. it really depends on how you optimize your site.. create contents that you can link there your pages to get 1 way links and also submit it to blog directories and also link exchange with related blogs.. that can increase your link popularity..

Wordpress is good but, if you are a beginner i suggest Blogger, no installation, easy to understand GUI and its got a lot of cool templates to choose from.

you can create a blog on your own domain...yeah blogger is more easier to understand though wordpress is cool to use if you will use it not just a free host...i actually using the new blogger and you just need to optimize it the way you did on your on site...also improve its link popularity...and link your site with it that way you might gain a lot of traffic...

Thanks for the feedback everyone I greatly appreciate it. I'm going to form one on blogger in the coming days for our company. Once i get it going, it will be a computer service based blog. If anyone wants to link up let me know.
