How many days for google to index a new site?

On one site(soulofusa.com) i read google,yahoo etc will take 8-12 weeks to index a new site. What is the real time frame for this?

That depends on how many pages you have within the web site.
I can say from my experience, it usually takes approx. 1-2 weeks to index home page.

If you have dynamic web structure with links like index.php?page=xxx, then usually Google does not like such url's, you should convert them to /somepage.html, then they are more likely to be indexed faster.

- the best solution is to get links to your web site from blog, add this blog to google search blogs to get this blog indexed, create email account at yahoo and MSN. and then add your blog to My Yahoo and to MSN.
Ping your blog to get indexed by this two search engine.
create a post where you will add your web site links and ping your blog. this work to get your web site indexed after two days. get some links from forums such this add your signature or add your web site to review section.
did not get more links before that it will be indexed.

Time depends , i would suggest you to just to keep building you site ( back linking, articles etc) and google will pick it up soon.

i think it depends! my blog has been index for just 2 days or 1 day if not mistaken. just continuing your effort and in the right time i know it will..

Most of the points are already told. I would just like to add two more points to it:
1.Make sure you have a Google friendly site and the content is justified with your title and description.
2. The keywords should be targeted ones and should be between 15-20 maximum.

it depends on the site...improve your link popularity and once those sites which has your site has been crawled your site might get indexed...

Google once indexed my page in 3 days, and then took one month to index another modified website. I changed this site a little bit haft month ago, and the modified site was indexed by google yesterday.
