Hey,
This is something that you won't find often. It explains how I've got some pages with supplemental results.... 1. A web site was created with dynamic sitemap: index.php?page=somepage 2. In 1 month, a new static sitemap was created using MOD_REWRITE rules and uploaded to google sitemaps. Now, each request to: index.php?page=somepage is same as /somepage.html 3. After 2 months I see the results: Google put all dynamic links into supplemental index. So even thought sitemap has been changed 2 months ago, Google still remembers dynamic links from old sitemap! So what's next? Well, I'll put META ROBOTS=NOINDEX on dynamic duplicate pages to prevent Google from indexing them. That should do the trick. LOL: Another hint: Check your particular page last CACHE date !!!! What you see in CACHE is how Google actually sees your page with all the keywords and page titles and contents. Don't trust Google Sitemaps Statistics: "Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Apr 18, 2007." - IT may confuse you, IT'S ONLY TRUE FOR YOUR ENTIRE WEB SITE, NOT FOR PARTICULAR PAGE. Hope it helps someone! Have fun! |
