Google sitemaps service and external links to my website
Hello,
Do you have any information how often Google updates the external links to my website in the "Google sitemaps" page of Google webmaster tools? For about one month it shows the same links to my website although there much more links linking to my website. I also did not understand the logic behind the "link:www.xxx.com" What does the results really show? Over 300 sites are linking to my website but it shows only two results. Thank you |

Yeah, I agree with that. It's just that google reports are not so fast on backlinks updates. You can check in yahoo anyway for a more detailed backlinks for your site. But I think google is just being careful evaluating the value of the link, because they are very focused on content relevance.

Yes, google sitemaps are very slow on sitemap updates.
I have the report for a web site almost 6 months behind and it causing some problems with duplicate contents. An advice: If you removed the url from your web site, make sure it returns 404 page not found, otherwise, google may want to re-visit it again in a year or so and re-include it back to search if it's still there. Anyone knows a support email for google sitemaps team? I'd really want to ask them some questions. |

Sorry, missed this one. Sorry, I don't actually have one.
I never had such need to generate Google sitemaps with php scripting, because there are already thousands of ready-made software to do this. All you have to do is run that program and enter your web site URL, it will run through all pages and create XML sitemap. Just a quick link: http://www.sitemapbuilder.net/ But if you need a php script for that, there are already on the internet: Search in google for "sitemap php script", this is the quick link from many results: http://rjsoftwares.com/google_sitemap/ Hope that helped, Best of luck, Alex |
