usually to get higher PR , you need more backllinks and adding web sites to the directories will help you to get more backlilnks. and higher PR helps you to get ranked higher in SEs' which will help you to get more traffic.

On certain terms but its not necessary if your site is having higher PR then you are getting high rankings in search engines because sometime lower PR site also rank on the keywords............. It depends on the keyword selections and the work done on the site..

PR is all about your link popularity...it is a 1-10 (10 is the highest) which was given by Google and shows the importance of your site on Google...having a lot of IBLs doesn't mean you'll have high PR it is also about the quality of site's linking to you not only the quantity...You can submit your site to DIRECTORIES as part of your link building for you to increase your IBLs...and through IBLs your site will receive TRAFFIC...
