by having a good descriptions! That what the search users see in Google result when typed a keyword or phrase!

Improve your link popularity by using that specific keyword and you might rank well on that targeted keyword and probably receive lots of traffic...

you have to search for the keywords that best describes your site.. use keyword suggestion tools to know if your targeted keywords have higher searches... target up to 5 major keywords/keyphrases and put it in your titles in submissions and alt tags in your sigs..

Still new here, so brace yourself for what may be a newbie-dumb question...

I take it from your post that placing keywords in alt tags is still a good idea. That being said, is it correct to infer that Google does not currently penalize sites for this sort of thing?

IMO,, as long as your linking from a good site,much more if it is a related site, and not doing some tricks,, it is okay...

How long does it normally take for keywords and descriptions to start working SE's? Because I am fairly new to web design and only recently got a few pages live on the net for clients and I have included descriptions and keywords (meta) in the code but when I try and search for the sites I do not find anything (even if I search specifically for the keywords I used).
