Different result on link popularity

Some time a link popularity is steadily climbing on one search engine but my ranking on others is steadily declining ??
Why is that ? Somebody care to help give me an explanation ?

it depends on every SEs algorithm... example for yahoo you must do onpage optimization 'coz Yahoo give more factor on Onpage Optimization while on Google is more on quality links...

I tend to agree...

Different SE's place more (or less) importance on different factors...

So, much like coolguy said, you can find yourself ranking high in one while slipping in another simply because a certain SE might favor backlinks over internal content. (Or vice versa).

Well this may happen due to change in Strategies of the big bosses (SE's)..U never know how long a newly created algorithm will be applied by the SE's..may be..there is the change in indexing point of view!!!

There are major tdifferences between them but I still try to figure out what will give me the push to the top. read read read amd make be you'll come out with something new
