How to get an inbound link? And is the other way round link also beneficial for PR?

As the title suggests, my question is how to get an inbound link? And does adding link to other sites also help in getting higher PR? Also, what about the directories? How to make sure that the sites, which claim to submit our site to directories are not spams? And do the sites themselves own directories?

directories and exchanging link are some way to have inbound link.. site that claim to submit site to directories? maybe try to ask them how they are going to do that... are they going to use auto submitter or the organic way of submission which is manual submission...

well, if u want to know a site is spam or not, we have to make it out from the site itself...by reveiwing the site very well, analysing the site's backlinks, products and services that the site is offering.

simple things like site url submissions, forum signature links, links in articles, links in press releases, links exchanges, links in blogs, links in newsletters, etc.

You want the links to be from higher PR sites if possible. A bunch of links from sites with zero PR is just work for you with no gain.

Yes, provided that you link with keyword rich anchor text...

It also helps if the other site has a good to high PR, plus the two subjects should be related.

there are many ways to get inbound links.. when you submit your article or press release to other sites include anchor text in it.. place a sig in forum.. subscribe to groups and directory submission.

Request a link from other sites by directory submission, links in articles, links in newsletters, links in blog comments, links in forum signatures, etc.
