What do u think about stuffing keywords in title tag?
hi there,
i read some seo guides. and according to them, we should not repeat things in meta keywords and descriptions. also, the title must have contents which actually describe the page. but the dilemma is when i search for the web building companies in india, all of the websites, whose name come on first page list have their keywords stuffed in the title. so i guess this helped them with that. india is known for its capability in s/w field. and i feel that i should follow them too if i need a good ranking for my site. else if i look at the quality of the page and follow wht guides suggest, i doubt that i will lower the site rank and get a good scolding from my boss. so, help me pls |

You should not break the rules just because you saw some web site.
If they don't care about correct page descriptions, that does not mean you should do the same. If you have time and will to make it right, do it and you'll not regret. To cheer you up and prove my point, not that I really want to, but have a look at this search: web developers group - Google Search You will find my web site "SkyByte.net" PR=2 on the second page among 650.000.000 results by 3 main keywords. I managed to line up with PR=5-7 web sites, so what does it tell you? My web site is just 6 months old and I have exchanged links with only in 3-5 web sites. It just grows by itself and I just keep it updated. I have submitted to "0" directories !!! Follow the rules and make clean design, it will help you. I hope I made my point. |

hi there
i really want to clear out whether stuffing keywords like this is too much. as i said earlier indian web developer sites have keywords stuffed in their title. and that means their site will be shown by google for various search text, NOT ONLY ONE. they have done like following
<title>Global Solutions India:website design india, india web design, website development india, outsourcing india, graphic design india, web design india, web design company</title> So, what do u think about this. i only want to know whether this is too much.thanks |

hi alex
yeah but then the stuffed title tags are not meant to be shown up there. actually, those are for crawlers. the search engine robot goes through them na? and they take it seriously na? regarding ranking?

Ask yourself: Why would anyone waste their time writing Google Webmasters guidelines? Why would GoogleBot keep LONG 400+ characters page titles in their database? Looking from technical point of view, their database structure probably designed to keep only allowed amount of characters for titles, If I were their DB architector, I would make the same. So you're being just naive thinking that they keep long titles in their database and wasting HW space on their servers for those, who don't know. Have a look at their CUT-OFF title again and ask yourself if they used too much keywords now! |
