Pls advise whether the link exchange mgmt software i found for free is safe.

i found a free link exchange mgmt software. the link to it is LinkMachine - Complete SEO Reciprocal Link Exchange Software, Search Engine Optimization Tool. it lets u download link exchange mgmt software, free. it asks us to either install automatically or manually. when we choose automatically, it asks for ftp address, username and p/w. so, since it is not safe, i am thinking about doing it manually, ie first downloading the s/w and installing. but considering the providing of s/w free and asking for such sensitive data, i am really in dilemma, whether or not to opt for it....so, pls advise..thanks

do it by yourself. its cheap and you will learn as you go on

i think Link Machine is safe as far as my boss knows. because we are thinking before to use it but we never came back to it with the reason that we became busy

I'm concerned why this software asks for ftp username and password.

Is it uploading some files on your server?

Personally, I would not give away any sensitive data to "free" software, which I don't know. How do you know that your data is stored in safe location?

For example, what if they store this data on a Windows Server in their office which may be infected by virus or other crap, so your data will travel long way from their machine to hackers machine and there u go.
