I've started to make SEO for our Web Design Company Cratima
and one of the problems I am confronting with is that there is a fee difference between different web directories on the web. I can submit our site to free web directories, reciprocal link directories, and paid directories. Now, my question is: is there really a difference between this submissions? I mean, does Google index your site depending on the amount of money you pay a web directory site? Or do this paid web directories offer services that help Google index your site better? I'm looking forward for your replies, thanks ! |

Free Web Directories can be subject to a lot of low value spammy type of link submissions. Google values these links as “low value outbound links” and therefore, the Web Directory would be penalized in worth. However, a Paid Web Directory usually has high quality outbound links submitted because spammers rarely pay money for submitted links. source

If you can get yourself into DMOZ directory then you should be sorted, its the largest directory in the world so big that google uses it to get all its links, only prob is its hard to get your site listed but its free.

i think the time that directories will review your submission is one of some differences.. and of course, you are unsure if you are going to be listed or not. compared to paid and reciprocal.

Directory submission
Hello
If you are doing directory submission for your site. You must think about high quality back link. The high quality back links comes from Good PR sites, .edu , .gov etc domain. If you are going to make reciprocal link then it can create problem to you. If you are choosing paid directory then you have to choose good directory. |

Free Directories --> a good source of inbound links especially if it's a quality links directory..no reciprocal links necessary
Reciprocal Directories --> linkexchange directories (directories will approve if you have links of their site in your site) Paid Directories --> approved fast if you paid for a certain amount a good inbound links also but this time with payment... |
