Missing Word

Hi All,

Am slightly puzzled at the moment. We have optimised our home page for the term 'web design leicester', but we rank really poorly for the search term in Google.

I've checked in the analytics section in the page Analysis and all of the words are listed in the content apart from 'web' Has anyone else experienced this problem, or am I just missing something really obvious?

All help and advice gratefully recieved!

Thanks
Mark

By the way how old is the site?

Just SEO it and wait, you will see all your hard work...

Hi Mark, Good Morning to you!

IMO, i think you tried the concept of semi-competitive keywords but let me tell u that both 'web' and 'design leicester' are highly competitive keywords. It's not like you added the keyword 'web' with the actual keywords to make it less competitive. So don't have the false assumption in your mind after adding the word 'web' with 'design leicester' will make your site top the rankings chart! So stick with quality backlinks and Anchor texts. This will help! Thanks!

Hi All,

Thanks for all the advice and sorry that I've not posted for a while - have a reasonable excuse though have been away on honeymoon!

Am in the proces of creating back links, it just takes so much time - is there any way that anyone knows of speeding up the process?

Also, our site is now twelve months old, and we've jumped up about 170 places in google for 'web design leicester' So not a bad result. Not sure why it's happened all of a sudden though.....

I understand the advice on semi competitive words, but the strange thing is that we've always been on the third page of google for 'design leicester', yet on page 21 for 'web design leicester' and it was that part that I was struggling to understand.

I thought it might have something to do with the word 'web' being missing from the llist of 100 keywords report that google gives in the statistics section then into the 'what googlebot sees' (see previous post) and was wondering if anyone else had come across this.

Cheers
Mark
