Site gone from Google search results
Hi All
First post, I have a question I really hope someone can answer. ![]() History- We noticed from our web stats that our hits suddenly dropped, the lowest they have been for a few years. We couldn't see why, so thought it must be a really quiet year. We searched google and found we no longer listed in the results- everything around us but not our actual site. We have for a long time always been in the top three results. Strange thing is Yahoo, Orange and others see us and we are at the top. Question- Why would we disappear from Google ? Web address www.queenford.8m.com Our server is having a few issues today some of you may see it others may not. Any help really would be appreciated. Thanks |

I don't know for sure why this happens but the same thing happened to one of my sites 2 weeks ago. It dropped completely from the google index and then re-appeared in the index about 1 week later with the same rank average as before it dropped. I've read that if your server is down when google comes calling then this could cause your site to drop out of the index as it appears that your site no longer exists. Then once your site is successfully crawled again then you should regain your ranking ( provided this was the reason for the drop). This makes logical sense to me as I know my server was experiencing some problems around the time my site dropped from the index.

How old is your site?
Google display all new and optimized site within few days and making it disappear after that... Giving chance to other sites to rank.... If properly optimized it will retain it's ranking.. Build more IBLs rather than OBLs.... |

Hi
Thanks for the replies. The website is approx 8 years old, it's updated every 3-4 weeks sometimes more often. This may sound odd but SEO, ADwords etc are all new to me, all I have ever done is create/change the website and over time have become visable on search engines. I just thought it odd that this happened. Also we show up at the top (Google) in search web but search pages from UK is where we have disappeared from. We'll just wait and see what happens, thank you for the help. |

migrated servers, lost google rankings
hello all... new member here... i saw these past posts so thought i can share my website issue...
we have a major problem here with our Google SE rankings.… in the beginning of the October 2008, we migrated our site to a new server. Nothing changed with our site, we just simply migrated our web site to a new server on a new host network, which gave us a new IP. A few days later, I noticed that we lost ALL our rankings… meaning we went from page 1-2 to 5-6 and we lost about 90% of our traffic! I did research online about IP switches, and its not supposed to have any impact on our site… we checked everything and we made no changes to our site so I cant figure out what happened or what we can do to fix this…. We used to rank for “Samsonite luggage page 1, #1, luggage page 2, wenger luggage, kids luggage, designer luggage,” to name a few… I was hoping if anyone could possibly shed some light on this? Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or know anyone that has? Any suggestions would help and we are in a tight situation here. Thanks in advance! |
