Google Webmaster Tools Inaccurate

The "Top Search Queries" tool in Google's webmaster tools updated my stats 2 days ago and now shows that my site has a #1 or #2 average top position for 6 keywords that I was shooting for. However when I search for my site using these keywords I am in postions 40 and beyond. I know these stats are not from prior periods as I check my stats daily and have never showed up in the #1 or #2 position for these particular keywords. It's not google images that they are ranking me for either as I've checked and am not showing up in google images at all.

Also,the "Top Search Query Clicks" tool updated as well and now states "Data is not available at this time." The site was previously showing data before this recent update and I get about 110 visitors to this site daily so I know that this unavailability of data is not due to lack of traffic to the site.

Can anyone shed some light on what can be going on here?

Maybe it's justs on updates that's why? All SEO tools are not 100% accurate. They are all guides for SEO...

thats why It's better to check your targeted keywords manually...

Funny, but I asked the same question Google Officials, they sent me politely to go read google faqs and forums....like I haven't done that before. Anyways, I can say that I had 6 months delay in stats for a new web site, after 1 year, now it seems like updating each 2-4 months.

i agree with you,, for an accurate result check it manually..

manually checking is the best way. i still wish I knew how they derived those inaccurate results
