KEI helps you to find good and useful keywords in terms of comparing the number of searches of your keyword from the number of competitors using same keyowrd.

huge searches of keyword and lesser competitor is better

KEI or Keyword Effectiveness Index is a formula that determines the best keywords (those that have many searches and that don't have much competition in the search results). It is the no. of searches for a keyword divided by the no. of search results.

The KEI compares the number of searches for a keyword with the number of search results to pinpoint which keywords are most effective for your campaign.

Keyword Effectiveness Index, refers to the number of times a keyword has appeared in Wordtracker’s data compared with the number of competing Web pages, which points to which keywords would be most effective for your search engine marketing campaign.

does this mean that KEI only based the number of searches on a certain keyword on Wordtarcker? no more no less?
