KEI or Keyword Effectiveness Index is a formula that determines the best keywords (those that have many searches and that don't have much competition in the search results). It is the no. of searches for a keyword divided by the no. of search results.

Keyword Effectiveness Index, refers to the number of times a keyword has appeared in Wordtracker’s data compared with the number of competing Web pages, which points to which keywords would be most effective for your search engine marketing campaign.
