The reason why not to submit to Search Engines

Here's how SE works:

Quote:
Search engines crawl the web every few weeks (or months) looking for websites to index. Here's how it works:
  • Search engines start at one website with a large number of outbound links (usually a directory)
  • They follow every link they come across, indexing each page they arrive at
  • Once a page has been indexed they follow all the links from that page
  • And so on until there are no more links to follow
Unless today is your very first day on the Internet, you might have heard that inbound links into a website are extremely important in establishing its search engine ranking. If a search engine can't find you by itself through crawling the web, then your website doesn't have any inbound links. If so, you'll never achieve a decent search engine ranking so what's the point in registering?

So why bother submitting to SEs? what do you think?

we submit our site to search engine to let the spider know that the site is active and live so that the spider would crawl the page it is like an introduction. "how can one person know you if you dont introduce your self"

I think that SEs are not going to include those "submit your site here" if its not necessary or they don't want site owner/webmaster/seo or anyone to submit there site.. so whats the purpose of that? what do you think?????

In conclusion: theres alot of site all over the net... maybe billions or more than that.. and as the quoted statement said "Search engines crawl the web every few weeks (or months)" so why not wait for a month or weeks.. I didn't say that is the faster way.. but its also possible way...

I have read in some articles here in the web, forgot where it is, that submitting your site in search engines will get you in the sandbox for a long time,, waiting your site to be crawl next after millions of submitted sites before you..

What do you think? Is it misleading or not?

Well for my own opinion,, Its not bad if you'll submit you site in SE's.. as long as you know that you don't do bad black tricks,, your site will be indexed...but if you want to get indexed faster,, I suggest you get a link on a high traffic and updated sites...

this is been a long issue even in other forum.... as long as SEs allowing any site to submit, i don't think this can harm your site...

What i know submitting a website has a good advantage, and one of those is to easily crawl our site.

Definitely gingercaily, as long as SEs allowing any site to submit it will not cause any trouble to the site, and beside submitting the site is some what part of optimizing it....

"You absolutely do NOT need to submit your URLs to Yahoo at all. They will find and index all your pages for free if you just give them a crawler-friendly site and the time to do so." This also applies to Google and the other major search engines. Manual submission is not necessary because their spiders will usually find and index your automatically.

Isn't it great? let them do that task and focus your time to other SEO methods.

Still it's much better if you'll submit your site to SE's, It's like giving your phone number to someone you want to communicate with...
