Yes, it really matters... SEs read the two keywords differently...

Singular and Plural are common issues of keyword difference...
I believe that it has great effect in showing results after a keyword search..

better put a targeted KWs in a singular and plural form...

for me.. take advantage with plural one.. if the searcher search for the term that is plural there are chances for you to rank than having not using plural target KW.
