I am New & confused in the SEO world

Hi to all my google community friends,

I have listed the things I have been doing to Optimize my website,
and can you help me do some more, am new and I really have no-idea about
this, and I have few questions too.

1.I have been doing link exchange
2.I have been posting articles and writing blogs on related sites i,e; Travel.

can you guys suggest me what more should I do.
What is Google link? My home page shows no google link, and what should I do to increase google link on my site?

Does the age of my website has any effect on traffic genarating, listing in good rank in google, what does google support the most in order to rank websites in google search engine?

What effect does external link have on google ranking?

Google Link? maybe you are referring to 'google indexing' that can be seen in search result after typing a specific keyword.. First, you have to determine what are your targeted keywords.. then make it visible to your site and emphasize it using h1 tags or bold it.. then after that,, submit it to free quality directory sites, forum postings, classifieds ads postings if you are offering good or services...

Maybe you are talking about the Google backlinks... Actually you can\'t view all your backlinks... Just do off-page optimization... Social Bookmarkings, Join forums and post your links, do some promotional ads, blogging....submit your blog to blog directories...

Backlinks: are incoming links to a website or web page. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page.

You said that your doing link exchange..So I bet you have already your targeted keywords.. You know, if you are worrying about your google back links, just continue your work.. like what you have said awhile ago.. link exchanging and so on.. But for me, the most easiest and fastest way to acquire backlinks is to do forums posting similar to your theme of coure.. Now, if you don't see any links when checking manually in google, that's just fine for now especially if you have a newly launched website.. It will appear in time after the google backlinks update..

That's right, start from the very beginning/basics of SEO and after that, you must keep it in mind. Then after that try to research on some articles regarding SEO. Well the internet is a big help, it has a vast information that you needed.
