Am I wasting PR (Page Ranking)? Should I use rel="nofol

I was reading that I can focus my PageRank on particular pages within my site with the rel="nofollow" tag, so I don't waste PageRank on pages that aren't important for ranking.

For example would it be a good idea to exclude pages, as for example the page which appears when some one uses my contact form? Or for example my Privacy Policy, etc?

But by the way, there are so many reasons I do not want to use that tag. More see here: http://www.nonofollow.net/index.php?title=Main_Page

What do you recommend?

Is there a penalty for using rel=:nofollow" in too many links? Any idea?

Thanks

The first thing that is the most important thing is not getting a penalty by Google, right? I could only suggest you to not use nofollow, so.. just don't mind the PR on those pages. I can't see any other solution for this so maybe another member can help us..

I recommend limited use of the tag. Use it for what it was intended, but no more. The danger lies in overdoing it - trying to keep PageRank for your own site - and not giving credit where due. In this case, it is imaginable that a search engine would in some way penalize for its use.

Thank you all for your kind advices and comments.
Just to be on the right side, I have deleted them all site wise. I hope some more inputs will come in about this issue.
