Hard time with backlinks, help

I created about 25 backlinks, they all came up in analytics as Traffic Sources for about month but after that most of them disappeared of analytics leaving about 16.

I dont no how this has happened as most of them were from social websites (youtube, facebook, myspace etc) and there all gone.

Anyone got any ideas??

Most traffic that is coming from Social Networking Sites are temporary...
You'll notice that the amount of traffic coming from this Social Networking Sites decreases as time pass by...
One main reason is because many new articles and stories are submitted every second which archives most of your submissions...
The newer the articles or the story the more attention or traffic it gets...

I will agree with Dark eye that's why it is important to update your site regularly, it should always have a new content.

social bookmarking site just give a temporary traffic unlike traffic coming from search engine that give relevant traffic searches.

If you want constant traffic, try targeting long tailed keywords and create articles and submit them to article sites.

try other link building strategies like directory submission, link exchange, link bait, blogging, etc. these might help you get a much stable traffic

Don't rely on posting stoires on SB sites alone.. Since this SB sites delete those posts that seems to look like spam and those without votes from other members...

Try using different techniques in building backlinks...

Optimize your targeted keywords through forum posting, directories submissions, and blog commenting...
This kinds of activities works well for me...
Most of my targeted keywords are now visible on SERP...

Very nice link...regarding to this one: Write about the hottest celebrities, and make it unique. People love Hollywood....Yes this will give you lot of backlinks and traffic as well but be careful in what you are writing/posting...always remember that we want traffic and not to hurt people...
