Question PR question

Just a quickie! My main web-site has achieved a PR3 on most pages, 2 on a few, 1 on a few. The rest remain 0/10. Being picked up well so I'm chuffed.

Both my wife & I have blogs. Mines a 'spot' & my wife Elaine has a 'spirit'. In all honesty these are kept as a link to our main site & for a bit of fun.

Elaine managed to achieve a 4/10 with her blog a few months ago. Backlinks showing up to about 15. Most of which were achieved by us and we know they still work. Mine achieved a PR/2 and had 7 back links.

Now both have 0/10 (main-site still is as above). Neither of our blogs now show any backlinks. All of the previous back links still exist and still work - so they ARE there. So why all of a sudden do they appear 'not to be there'.

Have I missed something? Both blogs are still picked up by searches as before, so all appears normal. Other than the loss of PR & 'recognised' back links.

So whats changed, why & what's the point please?

Many thanks, all comments appreciated.

It is not only the number of links you have pointing to your site that matters, but also the quality and relevance of those links.

and i think its because of the update.. google is really unpredictable these days..

Try a link Building on your RELEVANT website these will give you what you need, dont do link building with your RELEVANT website that has 20+ links on that page where they will put your links on.. and avoid LINK FARMS as well

and oh by the way some blogs offers "NOFOLLOW" attributes on it so watch out for it

Like what the first two members have replied, continuous link building from quality related sites is the best solution as far as PR is concern...
PR is a link algorithm so every incoming link counts...
The quality of these links does matter in boosting your PR...

choosing quality and relevant links are not only for PR purposes but it's a way of showing the SEs and the visitors that the site is a good one

I agree with ka-canor. Fresh content can help your site but you need also to build links on it.

just continue what you are doing right now and if possible double or triple the task and of course eliminate anything that didn't work good for your site!
