a and with & etc

my ultimate goal is to get as high up as
possible with google with the key phrase
(man and van) but if i look at a cache website
google ignores the word "and" or so it seems.
i can write "man and van" "man van" "man and a van"
"man with van" etc and get vastly different positioning.
how do i optimize the "and" if google says it ignores
this word.hope this makes sense.

im sorry but you are wrong.if this was the case then "man van" and "man and van" would have the same rank all the time.

I think that gives different search result...
Just like in singular and plural terms...
Google gives different result for that...
The best way to do is to include all your targeted KWs...
In any form whether it has "and" or none...
as long as the meaning will be related to your site...

"and" is considered one of the stop words in search engines. If you want to optimize the word "and", you have use direct searches instead. Meaning, people will type "man and van" in search engines - quotation marks included.
