Yes, content is really important above anything else...

In some cases yes content is king. But in some cases its all about links and popularity.


For example recently that new song came out "handlebars". now when you type in handlebars in google the first link is that song. Its a youtube page with little content. However so many people have visited the site using that keyword and have linked to that video with that keyword that it now ranks number 1 for "handlebars".

Also known as a GOOGLE BOMB.


But as i said, it all depends on the situation and circumstance at hand.

Regarding on the off-page optimization, you may put ergonomic chair on your sig or make it as the title when you submit on directories! but don't spam!
